(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - According to information received by the committee for the defense of human rights in the Arabian Peninsula ( CDHRAP ) , the Saudi Wahhabi authorities arrested on 15 July 2011 , the Shi’a citizen (Basheer Baqer al-Jassas from the town of Awwamiyah in al-Qatif of the Eastern Province ) at al-Batha border port check-point on the Saudi Arabia & United Arab Emirates Border .
Al-Jassas was trying to visit United Arab Emirates , and the reasons of his arrest were unknown .
He was held at al-Batha check-point detention center and then moved to al-Qatif prison .
The police confiscated his mobile and another materials in his possession.
He was denied family visit and his fate is unknown .
Al-Jassas was arrested last week and released in the same day on bail under the charge of taking part in peaceful demonstrations in Qatif calling for the release of the prisoners , political reforms in Saudi political system, equal rights for the oppressed Shi'a minority , put an end to sectarian discrimination in the country and also called for the Peninsula Shield Force to be withdrawn from Bahrain.
